PRICE PAGE

25 May 2016 By PDSNET

The page of your daily newspaper which displays the previous day's closing prices on the JSE. The price page is divided into the same sectors and sub-sectors as the JSE and gives the high, low, and closing price for each listed, quoted equity or "near equity" together with other statistical information like the day's move, the dividend yield, the P:E ratio and the volume of shares traded. There is a key to the abbreviations used on the price page which will help you to identify and understand the various columns. In the Business Day this can be found in the top left-hand corner. At the bottom of the price page you will find some interesting analyses. For example, the New Highs and the New Lows for the past 52 weeks and the Top Ten Trading Analysis by volume, value and activity. Of course, most of this information and much more can be found in your software.
