TIP

19 April 2018 By PDSNET

If you talk about the stock market socially with your friends and colleagues at work, you will certainly get tips on what to buy and what to sell from time to time. The person who gives it to you may have inside knowledge of the company - perhaps because they work there. But sometimes, the insiders in company spread positive rumours in the market place so that they can off-load their shares at a better price when they know that bad news is coming. The secret is to do your homework. When you get the tip try to find out as much about the company as you can. Then if your research points in the same direction as the tip, you can act. Ask yourself this, "Would I have bought this share even if I never got the tip?" If not then leave it alone.
