NUMISMATIC

16 January 2017 By PDSNET

The study of coins, paper money and medals and the subsequent value that results from their rarity. In other words, coins which have numismatic value are worth more than the metal which they contain, because they are rare i.e. collector's items. Many people think that krugerrands have some numismatic value, especially so-called "proof" krugerrands, however these coins are valued purely on their gold content - they have no rarity or age value.
